"Poor experience on ward"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

I have just read the article about ward C9 and am afraid to say it relates very closely to my wife’s experience who had only just been transferred to the ward from CCU. In fact she is asking if she can come home and be cared for in that way.  I am in no position to say whether or not this is possible at the moment but what I do know is that she is very unhappy where she is.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on the Care Opinion website regarding your wife's admission to Ward C9 at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital. I am extremely sorry to hear of this experience and have fed your comments back to the senior staff for the ward.

The ward manager and the matron are more than happy to be contacted to listen to and address your concerns and would welcome the opportunity to investigate the issues you have raised. Please call the switchboard on 01254 263555 and ask to be transferred to the ward.

You can contact the Patient Experience Team at patientexperience@elht.nhs.uk or if you prefer you can discuss further any concerns you may have about our services with our East Lancashire Hospitals Trust Customer Relations team at 01254 733700 or complaints@elht.nhs.uk who can advise you of your options in raising these concerns further.

Many thanks again for bringing this to our attention.

Kind regards

Just to follow up my last email and provide up to date perspective. Notwithstanding the nature of the ward the care is positive and I am now content with the services provided. The shock of a new environment also contributed to the original comments
