The Recovery College has been a useful interim solution to learn more about mental health. However, I am still seeking specific therapy from the NHS and seem no closer to accessing it. Although I have learnt new skills, I want a longer-term solution. I feel like I am stuck in limbo with what services I can access until I am in a crisis/in hospital. Unless I become more ill, I can't get access to therapy.
I have had to go to private therapy in desperation and had I not been in a position to do that, I would be in a very bad situation indeed. I don't feel it is justified to determine what support I can access based on symptom criteria, and waiting for my mental health to deteriate until I can gain more one-on-one support for my specific needs.
