"Poor booking system"

About: King George Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I attended for an  Outpatient hysteroscopy King George Hospital, Ilford as part of a 2 week fast track programme. I was not given any prior notice of what or how this would happen and no advice re pain relief.

The procedure was stopped due to the severe pain I was in. They decided that I needed to have this repeated but with a local anaesthetic. I am still trying to get this booked. When telephoning, no one answers the phone, or if they do you have been put through to the wrong department/person. They have tried calling but they don't leave a message and the number shown is not for the department needed.

Update posted by sagittariusyr65 (the patient)

The response and details arrived far too late. I have, some 3 months after original procedure had a 2nd procedure performed. Never received results from the 1st procedure (which I was informed would be 4-6 weeks) until I attended for 2nd procedure some 12 weeks later!

For someone who is a cancer warrior the wait was agonising and the pastoral care is just as important as the physical care.
