"2 years on, still no help."

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

I originally went to my GP in august 2020  with bowel issues and pain. It took them over three months and more than five appointments back and forth before they referred me. Finally referred to gastro at Wishaw general only to wait over a year before being seen. I've had to go back to GP multiple times with various other ( I suspect related) issues to be told they cant do anything further until I had seen gastro consultant.

Finally got an appointment with a gastro consultant and was referred for a colonoscopy and gastroscopy which then took over another six months

I received both of these in March and I still have not received biopsy results.

I was supposed to have an appointment 4 weeks ago and it was cancelled with 3 days noticed and I have not received a rescheduled appointment. I have phoned multiple times to ask for an update and I keep being told there are no appointments available. I have now waited 11 weeks since my scopes with no appointment, no results and being consistently told to wait. I have waited and waited, the last thing I wanted to do is complain and I now have no choice.

My health issues are affecting my work, my studies, my personal life and I just keep being told to wait. Two years later I am still waiting.

I want to note that the staff I have spoken to have been lovely and I acknowledge this is not a reflection of the reception staff I have spoken to.
