It was my first time being treated at an NHS hospital. I had to undergo emergency surgery for a skin complication. Reading about the problems the NHS faces, I was a bit worried about the care but was extremely positively surprised.
Everything from calling 111, being referred to the nearest urgent care unit, and receiving treatment has been quick, smooth, and comforting. All the nurses were incredibly lovely and I felt well taken care of. The doctors were competent and I felt safe all the way. I wish the doctors had a little more time but I understand the pressures they must be under.
Passing through a few wards during my short stay, this experience has been consitently positive. I thank all staff at NHS Scotland for their time. They deserve better pay and working conditions and I hope everyone will use their impact to deliver that for them.
