Following a health check up I was given the opportunity to see the Health & Wellbeing coach. I tentatively agreed not really knowing what to expect or achieve. There was an initial phone call and I was asked what I wanted or hoped to improve my health & Wellbeing. I really didn't know other than I needed to address my self diagnosed "sugar addiction" which I blamed on my weight gain. I was given a face to face appointment and I can honestly say without exaggeration it was life changing. As it happens my self diagnosis was wrong, it was habitual behaviour and not the sole reason for gaining weight. I had over time become sedentary and did zero exercise. It was fully explained in such a way that, yes, I got it, but was at no time made to feel embarrassed or ashamed. I mentioned that in the past I enjoyed swimming and I was encouraged to find a quiet session at my local sports centre. I did and I can truly say hadn't lost my love of the pool. Food types, portion control and labelling was discussed and made realise where I was going so very wrong. Making the decision to attend that appointment was the best thing I have done in years I was genuinely inspired to make small but very significant changes to my lifestyle. I feel fitter both physically and mentally. I swim 3 times a week attend pilates once a week and this is purely down to encouragement and support I didn't know I needed. I would encourage anyone who has the opportunity to see the coach to go, it could make such a difference. I've even made some new friends which is lovely.
Thank you for the referral. Thank you for the face to face and thank you for making a difference you are amazing.
