"Admission to Beech Ward"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health (inpatient)

(as a service user),

In January 2023 I was admitted to Beech Ward. I was depressed, frightened, and unwell. I remember being reassured and made to feel as comfortable as possible on the ward. I have been a patient on the ward for over five months after having many ups and downs but the whole of the team have remained consistent and encouraging. Everyone from pharmacists to domestic staff to my consultant psychiatrist have treated me with respect, dignity and care.

I am particularly benefiting from the psychological support I am being given through clinical psychologist Emma. I am beginning to understand my challenges through a psychological framework as well as a biomedical one. I believe this will help me to make more positive lasting changes to my enduring mental health challenges.

The garden space is a great outdoor area too.

I will be forever grateful for the care I am receiving on Beech Ward.
