Anything else?
I was taken to A&E whilst I was 6 months pregnant with acute pain under my right breast, I was in the most pain I've ever been in (and I've been in a car crash and had 1 previous baby), other than gas and air, which made me sick, I wasn't allowed any pain killers until I was properly examined which would have been fair enough except I wasn't prorerly examined for 5 hours, I was left in a hallway standing in A&E for 1 and half hours, sat on a bed alone in a cubicle for 1 hour, sent to maternity where I was left alone in a room for 2 hours, then examined by a nurse who left and never returned, about half an hour/hour later I was examined by a doctor, then had to wait about another half hour before I could be given morphine. The next day I was scanned and it turned out I had a mess of gallstones, I was taken back to my room (the only possitive, I had a room to myself!) and waited about 6-7hours for the doctor to come talk to me about the gallstones, whilst I was waiting the head nurse very snippily told me that as I didn't live locally (I was visiting family in the area) if I should have problems again I should drive all the way to my local hospital and be seen there as I was now a 'complicated pregnancy' and they didn't want me to return to Scunthorpe! I later told this to my doctor when they arrived and they said to go the the nearest hospital asap if I should become unwell as it could be serious as it might damage my liver/other organs if I got an infection. By the time the doctor had seen me it was about 9-10pm, I was then told I'd be discharged as soon as my antibiotics came from the pharmacy, luckily my husband was able to pick me up before midnight.
"Nurse told me not to return if ill as not local..."
