"Joint working really helped my Mental Health :-)"

About: Adult Mental Health Services - Community (County) / IPS Future's Positive Adult Mental Health Services - Community (County) / Newark & Sherwood Local Mental Health Team (LMHT)

(as a service user),

In recent months I have needed the help and support of the Newark and Sherwood Mental Health Team, Nottinghamshire.

Both Ayshea (Employment Specialist) and Claire (Specialist CPN Mental Health Practitioner) have supported me in a tremendous, effective, and dedicated way. They have given me direction and employment potential as well as real purpose and meaning. Claire’s work has really helped me to unravel things and be able to move forwards.

I had to take a career break to provide care for my parents, and after a couple of negative experiences with employers, my self-esteem and confidence was low. I was struggling to believe in myself. I have now secured employment in an administrative role in a government department which I recently started and am enjoying. It has boosted my self-esteem and given me purpose. I now understand my rights as an employee and have purposely looked for work with a Disability Confident employer like the civil service.

Having this employment will make so much difference to my life, not just financially, but I now feel like I'm going somewhere positive. It is very important to me to have found work and to be able to sustain this work, which Ayshea will continue to assist me with if I need any support.

I wouldn't have managed to secure sustainable and positive employment without Futures Positive help and support and its staff. They have enabled me to achieve my goals not just in employment but in life. To that end both Ayshea and Claire have achieved this together for me. I’d like to say thank you so much to both of them.

I highly recommend the Mental Health Team in Newark & Sherwood and particularly the two dedicated members of staff I've mentioned.
