I recently had a mental breakdown, which this is not about. It's the subsequent actions after.
I mountain bike regularly and as part of my mental health recovery I was advised to spend more time outdoors and exercising. Although I took it to extreme (I've always been an adrenalin junkie.)
I crashed my bike on a trail and I'd like to comment on the services provided from getting me out of the stream and finally home 8 days later.
First thanks to the ambulance crew and paramedics, who with the help of 2 police officers got me to hospital. It wasn't an easy lift and they made me as comfortable as possible.
Anyway straight to A+E at Kirkcaldy Victoria, one fractured pelvis later. The A&E crew were amazing, with on doctor using a technique to ease pain he used in a previous hospital.
My thanks go to Ward 33 staff. The Nurses, the Auxiliaries, the cleaners, the food everyone really needs praise. Their kindness and professionalism was above and beyond, when they are clearly overworked.
If I name names, the following people require my thanks.
Nurses- Naomi, Annie, Claire, Ellie, Lesley and Mo on nightshift. The physios were awesome in getting me moving.
The food was good (I'm a Coeliac, so can be a pain)
Overall thank you.
