"Waiting time for GP registration"

About: General practices in Lanarkshire

(as a service user),

We have been waiting 2 months for the GP registration process, keep being told our medical records haven’t been sent to them however the other surgery has sent it.

We have children with mental health needs and who need medication that we can’t access because we don’t have access to a GP until they register us.

Dear scorpiusqb44,

Thank you for sharing your story on Care Opinion.

I am sorry to hear that your child has not been able to access their medication as you have been unable to register with a GP, we always want to make things better for patients. GP’s are independent contractors and are responsible for investigating and responding to any concerns a person may have about the service; they are not registered to respond directly to feedback through Care Opinion.
