"Kind compassionate care RAH Minor Injuries Unit"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a relative),

I took my dad to Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) Minor Injuries Unit due to a shoulder injury, where he was cared for with compassion, kindness and dignity.

The department was clean and tidy. My dad has hearing difficulties and mobility issues and the triage assessment nurse Louise took this into consideration when communicating with my dad. She assessed my dad and after this provided analgesic for him as we would have to wait to be seen by a Doctor. This really demonstrated her kindness and compassion.

The Doctor we saw Dr Nayek was quick and efficient and showed a great deal of kindness to my dad, which we both really appreciated. The X-ray technician was also great with dad.

Huge thank you to these people for making a difficult and painful time for my dad so much better. Although the full process took 4 hrs to complete, the care my dad received was absolutely brilliant. Big thank you!

Thank you so much Phil2070

Your kind words around our team in the RAH Emergency Department is fantastic and greatly appreciated. You have captured the essence of patient centred care by the staff members involved. Your "big thank you" will go a long way in being received by those involved.

I am incredibly proud to respond on behalf of Nurse Louise and Dr Nayak and will ensure yours and that of your Dad's experience is shared directly with them. I will also pass to my colleagues within the x-ray department.

Best wishes to your Dad and I do hope his shoulder injury is on the mend.

Many thanks again for using Care Opinion.

Gerry

Hi Phil2070

Thank you for mentioning the Radiographer in your review of your dads care. I will pass on your thanks to those involved in his care. We always hope to provide an environment patients feel safe and comfortable in as we know X-ray departments can be unfamiliar for most patients. I hope your dad is on the mend.

Thanks

Amy
