About: New Stobhill Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as a relative),

My 20-year-old daughter had a colonoscopy procedure at Stobhill Hospital in  March.

She was told to expect the results within a few weeks...

It is now approaching 2 months and still no results! I have contacted the consultants secretary to be told this is normal waiting time.

I understand this if this is the case - But surely clinics should be advised of realistic time frame for results to give to patients... This would prepare patients when to expect them!

Dear Jinxie

Thank you for getting in touch. I am very sorry to hear about the length of time your daughter has been waiting for the test results. I agree that we should provide patients with realistic time scales regarding results so they know what to expect. At the moment it can take up to 8 weeks. Your feedback will be shared with the Management Team so that we can learn from this and to ensure we provide realistic timescales.

If you telephone 0141 355 1365 they can provide your daughter with an update regarding her test results.

Please pass on my apologies to your daughter.
