Recently I gave birth to my daughter. Before giving birth I spent 48 hours in the induction ward. I was low risk and just needed my waters broke so I was left till last. This was a very frustrating time but the midwifes on shift were amazing. One midwife in particular fought really hard for me to get taken. She was very attentive, always checking on me because I was really upset with being left for so long. I wish I knew her name. Thank you ❤️
The Charge Midwife Alison delivered my baby and after 48 hours of crying I went on to have the best delivery. Alison has such a lovely calming presence so I felt very calm during labour. It was a lovely atmosphere from start to finish. She gave my husband and i the privacy we needed but she was never too far when we needed her. It was clear to see how much she loves being a midwife. She even made an aromatherapy blend for me and massaged my back. She is an angel and no words will be enough for everything she did for our baby. She explained because she's a charge nurse she doesn't often deliver babies anymore, and we are so grateful she is in our birth story. The ladies who helped after delivery (midwifes or maternity care assistants) we don't know their names but they took us down to the post labour ward. They were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and we were well looked after. 10/10
