I am on a follow-up service at the Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) clinic.
Last year they sent me to do a blood test, then postponed the appointment three times, each time with 3-4 months waiting times. Once I managed to get through a telephone appointment one year later, it was pointless to look at my blood test. So, they sent me again to do a blood test, only to ghost me on the day of the appointment. There was no apology, only a letter a day later saying that it was me who didn't pick up the phone, when I was eagerly sitting by the phone, set on maximum volume, all day.
I understand that the backlog is enormous post-covid, however even before the pandemic, I felt the service was poor: in a previous face-to-face appointment, the Dr didn't look at my medical data, had no clue who I was and why I was there, didn't know how to log onto the system online and when they finally managed (by leaving our appointment to get some help), they couldn't print my test results and asked me to take photos of their handwritten notes.
