I have suffered neck pain over a long period of time, this has been managed somewhat with prescribed painkillers.
In 2019, I attended Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and received a MRI scan and a few weeks thereafter discussed the results with a physiotherapist. It was explained my results showed wear and tear in my upper spine and it was agreed, I would be referred to the Radiography Department at Woodend Hospital, Aberdeen for an injection to treat my pain. I have received no correspondence offering me an appointment since then. I did not chase this until now due to the Covid outbreak and the NHS being overstretched during that time.
On contacting the Woodend Hospital, it was suggested someone had tried to contact me and offer me an appointment in 2020. I explained that I had never been contacted either in writing or by telephone, despite confirming my details held on the NHS system were correct. I have been advised that I will need to contact my GP again and request he writes to the clinic stating I wish to have the treatment offered. This appears to be an unacceptable delay due to the error in my file being updated stating they had tried to contact me when to my knowledge they had not.
