I came into Daisy Hill Hospital by ambulance four weeks ago and straight into A&E where I remained for a number off days as there was no bed for me. I was then moved to Female Medical and I really couldn't have been cared for any better, the staff are great and the food is good.
If I had to make any improvements it would be more HCA's on the wards, A couple of the patients in my ward have challenging behaviour, take tonight we had one HCA and three patients needing what I could only describe as one to one, I really did feel for the Health Care Assistant who had to deal with the drama that unfolded; all three were trying to leave the ward even though they where not mobile. As a patient myself this was very distressing to watch as I couldn't help her.
My Experience has been good, but I do think the staff are really overworked and need more support to carry out their job.
