"Top marks to all concerned!"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Ophthalmology

(as a service user),

Treliske Eye Unit February 2023

Arrived 10:45am for 11:00 am appointment under Mr Patwardhan

11:30am Christine + Hudmilla tested my eyesight - then my eye pressure 10-12 and put drops in my eyes to dilate the pupils - 2 different drops - both nurses were friendly + competent.

12.00 went in to see Dr Sumbul   who tested my eyes + said macular degeneration was in early stages and because I have dry eyes there is no treatment to be offered - She gave me an Ambler Recording Chart + explained what to do at least once a month. If all is not O.K. as she explained - get in touch with hospital - She advised me to laminate chart. I had a bit of trouble with Dr Sumbul's diction (my hearing aids are not very good) but she was patient + repeated things - I was pleased with my treatment as it was a quick follow up from photos taken in January.

Top marks to all concerned!

Dear bravowg63,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback in the Eye Unit.

I am so glad that you are pleased with your treatment, staff, and quick follow up. Sorry that you had problems with Dr Sumbul's diction but glad she was patient and repeated things as necessary.

I will be sure to pass your kind words back to the team.

Kerry Trembath
