"999 Call"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust

I had to call 999 yesterday as my 7 year old daughter declined rapidly with an asthma attack. The call handler stayed on line until the ambulance arrived. He was very reassuring and kept me calm, talking me through every stage and ETA of the paramedics.

The paramedics arrived swiftly. They were so professional, knowledgeable and ensured that my daughter remained calm despite feeling so poorly. They spent over two hours stabilising her. Both paramedics were delightful and explained everything to my husband and I. Thank you so much for such a fantastic service and such empathy. I can’t remember the names of the two lady paramedics but sending heartfelt thanks to you both. You are are credit to the NHS.
