I was admitted on very short notice with a potential Quinsy that turned out to be Glandular Fever. The nurses were extremely helpful from the beginning and I was made to feel comfortable. I was quite distressed as my throat was very closed and the staff kept me calm and assured me I was OK. The Doctor I saw went through all the procedure options with me and any possible complications that could arise and what they would do in those situations. After taking some blood I was taken straight to a very clean room where I waited no more than 10 minutes (bearing in mind this was a Friday and the ward had just gotten very busy) before a nurse came a started my antibiotics and fluids. All the nurses that dealt with me (and even some of the ones who didn't) came in and instantly introduced themselves and asked me if there was anything I needed. As I was unable to talk very well they spent a lot of time with me and were very patient, and they made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. I'm not very good at being ill, I tend to panic and go a bit funny in the head, but they were so friendly all the time I was absolutely fine. Now I'm home with my medication which was well explained to me. Exemplary service throughout my visit.
"Fantastic patient care and friendly staff"
