"Doctors generally very good at mental health"

I’ve got a long term mental health condition, and have seen various doctors at the Spinney Surgery over the last 6 months. They’ve all been very compassionate and helpful, even when I’ve presented in a bit of a state on occasion (angry, upset and suicidal). The only slight problems have been:

1. They can be hard to get hold of by phone: expect 1/2 hour wait before your call is answered. The new web-based appointments system seems to be working very well, though, and avoids any waits.

2. It’s hard to get scheduled appointments.

3. I’ve ended up seeing a range of different doctors on urgent appointments, rather than “my” GP, so continuity of care can be tricky.

4. One doctor said they had  gone as far as they could, as GPs, which I took to mean not to go  come back with this problem. I may be being over-sensitive, though.

The other medical staff and admin/practice management staff are all efficient and friendly.

Overall, I’ve been really impressed by them and have been grateful for their help.
