"Glasgow Royal Hospital for Children"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Gastroenterology

(as a parent/guardian),

My son came in for gastrointestinal endoscopy. It was daunting for both of us, it being his first time in hospital since being born. It’s been a stressful few months trying to find out what is wrong with him. He’s been quite ill and off school. The staff were absolutely brilliant with us. They made us feel comfortable, they sympathised, they joked, they laughed and they bonded with us. They made it all as easy as possible.

Dear Greengage

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback on Care Opinion.

I can fully understand your apprehension prior to attending your son's appointment with it being his first time attending hospital. Hospitals can be a daunting place at the best of times so to hear you felt supported throughout was very heart warming.

I was delighted to hear the staff took the time to make you both comfortable and bonded with your son prior to his procedure. This must have been a huge relief.

I have passed on your feedback to the team who have asked me to thank you for your kind words. This really means a lot to the staff.

I hope your son is feeling a lot better and recovering well back at home.

Kind regards

Kevin
