"Warm at night"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / 4 North Surgical

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

After coming into hospital on Thursday with severe stomach pain, I have been in 4 north since. I have found it a really difficult and worrying experience. I have part of my bowel removed, however I am just hoping that a further operation doesn't have to take place to remove the rest of my bowel. The staff have been very nice, apart from one who has been a slightly bossy. The food is alright, I am not eating as much as I normally do anyways. The only complaint I have is that it is so difficult to sleep with the immense heat. This may be attributed to the fact there are 3 in the side room.

Coming into hospital is a stressful event, even more so when surgery is needed, I hope your surgery went well. I can only apologise if staff were overbearing in their manner, I feel work environment pressures can affect this but I hope this did not affect their empathy or care. Hospital pressures have meant three patients being in the room in question, we now have an air conditioning unit for this to make it more pleasant.

I hope you continue to do well in your recovery

Best Regards
