(as the patient),

He was the first person I saw after being handed over by the ambulance crew into cubicle 16 at Ayr ED.

Dr Rayad, I hope spelt correctly here, was surprised to see me and I felt offered genuine concern. His manner was very professional and he tried to be as painless as was possible with a catheterisation. I am grateful for the friendly face, and was disappointed that I had not been transferred earlier in that shift.
