I brought my daughter to A&E as she had hurt her arm at nursery and wanted to get it checked out, after a long wait we got an x-ray of her elbow down to her wrist and were told it was pulled elbow and a follow-up appointment was made.
We attended the follow-up appointment and were told it doesn't look like it is her elbow at all but maybe her wrist, so the sling we were originally given, we were told not to use and to use a tubigrip which did not support her at all!
Yesterday the nursery called me again as my 3-year-old daughter was uncontrollably upset, so I returned to A&E with her again. Another long wait, this time x-ray of her elbow and upper arm to find she has a fracture above her elbow!
My poor baby is now in a cast for another week after spending a week in pain, not treated correctly on first visit. I would like to add that my 3-year-old daughter is non verbal and being tested for autism, so the 3 visits have traumatised her! Especially when the doctor that thought it was pulled elbow tried to pop it back into place when it was actually a fracture! I cannot even imagine the pain my daughter was in!
"I cannot even imagine the pain my daughter was in!"
