"Unpleasant environment"

About: New Cross Hospital / Cancer Care

(as a relative),

The Deansley Ward, where do I start?

My loved one was unfortunately admitted onto the Deansley ward, which I feel is a tatty ward in desperate need of some updating! Not a pleasant environment when you are at your lowest.

We found the staff morale to be very low which created an unpleasant atmosphere. Lots of whispering in corners by some members of staff who it appeared did not want to be there! The junior doctors are doing their best but are facing a lot of pressure from consultants.

I so wish folk would remember this is real life and not just a conveyor belt of patients.

Sort yourselves out Deansley, or transfer somewhere else.

Update posted by muscatb54 (a relative)

I visited the Pals office at New Cross and it was a ridiculous farcical experience. I feel the service is anything but independent. I asked for a chat in a private room, as it states on a poster outside of the office that this is an available option. I was told that there wasn’t a room available, so I was ushered into a busy corridor where I had to voice my concerns with the general public within earshot!
