"A credit to the NHS"

About: Ealing Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as a relative),

My brother in law is a patient on the 6 South ward  at Ealing Hospital at the moment.

My brother in law has received excellent care during his stay so far from the medical teams on A&E and on 6 South. My brother in law has a number of conditions and is currently being treated for a respiratory condition following aspiration on the HDU part of 6 South.

There are a number of staff that I would like to thank and will do so under separate cover - but there is a member of staff that is worthy of special mention.

Please pass on my personal thanks to Daniel one of the nurses on 6 South.

Daniel has looked after my brother in law previously and on this admission he remembered me and my brother in law.

Daniel is an outstanding nurse. He is always positive and cheerful. He gives me excellent detailed updates when I call. Daniel couldn’t be more helpful. I also enjoy hearing how he has interacted with my brother in law who too is a very happy and chatty person who loves to make people laugh.

Daniel is an asset to your nursing team. I feel he goes the extra mile and nothing is too much for him. He is a joy to talk to as I do call for regular updates as my brother in law has dementia and I am his voice as named next of kin. Daniel realises how special my brother in law is to me and my husband and fully understands how I need to know how he is and always gives me an update that is so detailed it is almost like speaking to one of the doctors.

Daniel is a credit to the NHS and I would like you to pass on my heart felt thanks to him

Many thanks!

Dear LizR,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback regarding your experience with Ward 6 South while your Brother-In-Law stays on the ward.

It’s lovely to hear how passionate Daniel is as a nurse and the impact he has had on not only your Brother-In-Law’s time in Ealing but also yours as the NOK. As a trust communication with family and friends of our patients is very important to us, so its wonderful to hear first hand the positive impact our staff have.

I will forward your feedback over to the ward manager who will share with the wider team on the ward, including Daniel, who I’m sure will be delighted to hear the feedback you have shared.

Thank you once again,

Kind Regards,

Emma Calnan – Patient Experience Officer
