My partner had an appointment for the Orthopedic department at the hospital and is obviously very keen to attend. However, we were driving to the appointment when literally half an hour before they cancelled on us.
A second appointment was made but due to a traumatic and unexpected bereavement we unfortunately had to cancel this time to attend the funeral.
A third appointment was made but unfortunately again a very close family member passed away and we have to cancel again.
I am giving feedback for a number of reasons:
• The staff member we spoke to showed no sympathy at all and actually mentioned that we had previously cancelled due to a bereavement
• Made to feel guilty for cancelling.
• Felt we were not treated well on the phone.
Obviously my partner needs and want’s to attend the appointment but we both feel that we have been made to feel uncomfortable at a time when kindness and sympathy could have been shown an understanding of the difficult time my wife has had recently.
