I am unhappy about my experience in the injuries dept. I was brought to hospital by my fiancé as I am unable to walk or move in the car as it causes a lot of pain and discomfort to my ankle.
The entrance to the Unit was locked, so I rang the bell and was told I had to enter through the main door, which seems strange to me as 2 minutes before me other patients had been admitted through the door to the unit. I was sent around the building with a sore leg. On calling 111 and then speaking to the gentleman from Kircaldy I was told I would have a short distance to walk from the car park. Unfortunately it was a much greater distance after I have been told to go to the main entrance.
On arrival I had a discussion with a nurse and then an x-ray scan and returned to the same nurse. The nurse told me to get up and put weight on my leg, walk like I was healthy, even though I am obese so I should not put too much pressure on the ankle. I feel disgusted as I have a sprained ankle and the guidelines on the NHS website state not to put weight on the leg. I was not given any prescription, just a recommendation to take painkillers. All the patients I saw before me were walking out in leg stabilisers and I can unequivocally say that most of them were walking much better before entering the surgery, I was not given a stabiliser.
I feel I have been treated very poorly and am disgusted with the approach to the patient.
"Poor treatment"
