"Made me feel comfortable"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Colorectal surgery & stoma care

(as a service user),

My appointment at North Devon District Hospital's colo-rectal clinic.

It was so nice to be recognised by Jo, who must have seen dozens - or even hundreds - of other patients since my last appointment almost a year ago.

Once again she made me feel comfortable addressing this typically embarrassing condition; checking online official information, as well as my account of food and liquid intake - and output, as well as my symptoms being better or worse.

It was a relief to find my faecal test for cancer was negative, and nothing to worry about from her tummy probe, and she was able to keep me distracted - even amused- during the finger probe, and then tell me that another appointment will be made with a specialist consultant.

For keeping my spirits up, dear Jo, many thanks and best wishes.
