I was very worried about the unknown when I was sent for a consultation to the Gyneacology clinic. I was met by Nurses Lesley Ann and Audrey who immediately put me at my ease, reassured me and explained the details of my possible condition in easy to understand language. They talked about alternative treatments and then proceeded to an examination. One never enjoys the process of intimate examination but the nurses were gentle and efficient and I had the most minimum of discomfort, very unlike a recent examination.
And here is the marked difference, the hospital visits I have had recently, including todays, were marked by courteous concern and reassuring treatment by both doctors and nurses. I have found when I try to communicate with my GP surgery an appointment is often unavailable, the doctor is not in or an appointment is rushed or I have to explain by remote diagnosis via an on line questionnaire, nor do I actually know who my doctor is. So my visit to the New Victoria was a hugely reassuring one. One that was also very emotional, where I felt a kindness and concern from a caring staff. Thank you Lesley Ann and Audrey. The NHS is our very heart without it untold misery and pain would ensue it would destroy so much hope and faith in our country. These nurses restored mine.
"My visit to the New Victoria was a hugely reassuring one."
