"Recovery is the best possible life"

About: Inclusion Isle of Wight

(as a service user),

Inclusion helped me turn my life around by supporting me and valuing me better than I’d ever experienced from my family, or any one else for that matter.

Even though I’d been houseless and sleeping in a tent for three months (at the time), meeting my key worker was the first time I started to feel like I had a partnership in making my life a better place.

To be honest, I always kind of had a feeling that I could do it, but with my difficult family relationships - I felt totally abandoned more times than I had hot dinners.  I always ended up making things for myself worse off (when I trusted them to help me) than when I started off with anything on my own.

But not here at Inclusion (IOW) Dynamical and fully positive support was just what I needed to make the necessary changes that helped me to start making something really great out of my life.

As far as I can see I definitely couldn’t have done it alone, as even though I have had some experiences with rehab and group support, I found the right tools for me to move from a life unmanageable into what I see now as a normal and successful, as well as meaningful and fulfilling, life of infinite possibility.

Thank you so much guys - it feels like I have a new improved family now.

Hi Jason234

Id firstly like to thank you for taking the time to leave us some valued feedback, as a person centred service this really does support us in shaping the service moving forward and helps us to get things right and identify things that we could do with possibly changing. It’s great to hear that our support has helped you to make the changes that you need to build yourself a nice recovery. At inclusion we recognise the importance of peer support and as well as our structured group programs we have some peer led groups that thrive as people can feel supported and listened to by people who they can identify with and have an understanding. This supported with the structured groups and the 121 sessions alongside the other interventions we offer really help people to work on their next chapter.

Again thank you for sharing your story and we wish you luck with your continued recovery journey from all of us

@ Inclusion Isle of Wight.
