Letter received from wife of patient from Limavady area
We have once again benefitted from the excellent and very effective care provided by the Acute care at home service for older people. This outstanding service was able to help my very ill husband in January 2023 bringing him out of the acute phase within a few days. Once again, we are so thankful that his infection was treated at home thereby avoiding an expensive stay in hospital and the potential to become a ~"bed blocker"- surely a win-win result in the current crisis in the NHS. In our experience, it makes sound economic sense not only to continue, but indeed expand this cost-effective provision and so continue to meet the needs of the elderly in the community.
We would like to both thank and praise every member of the team who cared so diligently and professionally to my husband. Please pass on our family's gratitude for all the care and help we received.
