"Nurses both professional and good fun"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Emergency Department Daisy Hill Hospital / Male Medical

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I came to A&E at Daisy Hill where I was diagnosed with cellulitis. My experience here was alright. It was a long process before I got a bed but all the staff were fine.

Up on the Male Medical Ward it has been brilliant. All the staff are very good – the nurses are both professional and good fun. They always add the personal touch. There is nobody in particular I would like to mention – everyone who has looked after me has been nice and pleasant.

The only thing I could think needs improving is that there could be more flexibility in visiting times as not everyone can make it during those specific times.

Good Morning,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience from staying in Male Medical.

We are delighted to hear that your experience has been a positive one. We are so privileged to have a job where we can care for people and make a difference, whilst having some fun with our patients too.

We are now back to visiting hours prior to Covid. These visiting hours are in place to maintain the privacy and dignity of patients, whilst being assisted with personal hygiene and feeding.

I will ensure the team are all aware of your kind words - we really appreciate them.

Thank you again and Best Wishes, Patricia.
