"No appointment for the echocardiogram"

About: Glenfield Hospital / Cardiology

(as a parent/guardian),

My son was admitted to Glenfield hospital Oct 2022 after having a heart attack.

On admittance it was found he’d had 12 previous heart attacks plus a blood clot on his heart.

He had stents done & was discharged from hospital.

He was discharged with no appointment for echocardiogram & then follow up appointment with consultant Doctor Loakes as had been discussed to check if damage to the heart had been incurred.

When my son telephoned as he’d heard nothing his records couldn’t be found.

It’s now Feb 2023 & after numerous telephone calls to the consultants secretary (who is never available & messages have to be left), calls to the echo department & advice from GP, we are no further with an appointment for the echocardiogram, but have appointment with the consultant which will be a waste of time as echocardiogram not done.

It’s so frustrating & we really don’t know what else we can do it’s my sons life in their hands.
