"Disappointing care in the hospital"

About: Maternity care (Ward 31) / Labour suite maternity

(as a service user),

I received great care throughout my pregnancy but I was a little disappointed that staff on the maternity ward hardly spoke to me and paid very little attention to me after having my baby.

The ward didn’t seem very busy but I still had no real response from ringing my buzzer for help. I was so disappointed that I decided to go home since there was nobody really caring for me. This was the opposite to what I had heard from friends and I was expecting just a little more help from staff.

Home visits were great and care through the pregnancy was great but care in the hospital was disappointing

Dear bargaingq83

I am happy to hear of the good care you received throughout pregnancy and at home. I am sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations while in ward 31 and that this led to you feeling uncared for. This is not the standard of care that we strive for. I will share your feedback with the team here at RAH and if you are able to get in touch with me on the email address below I would be happy to discuss this with you further.

Best wishes

Angela Watt
