I was in labour for 42 hours, the doctors, nursers and midwives were very kind, and extremely helpful. They gave me all the pain relief I asked for without making me feel guilty for wanting it. I gave birth naturally (eventually! ! ) and my daughter was healthy and happy.
I lost a lot of blood and had suspected sepsis. I was given the best care, and after care. I wasn't allowed home until they knew the infection had definitely been tackled, and although I wasn't happy at being stuck in hospital at the time, I am grateful now that they were thorough and made sure everything was ok before allowing me and my baby home.
The midwives that took care of me and my new baby were amazing, despite being completely over worked. The poor ladies didn't stop, always going above and beyond their call of duty to ensure the best care was given. As did the doctors who continually came to check my progress and just check to see how I was feeling.
No one enjoys being hospital, but the people who cared for me made my stay in hospital bearable.
