"I no longer refer to it as healthcare, as no care shown"

About: Falkirk Community Hospital / Woodlands Resource Centre General practices in Forth Valley

(as the patient),

I first contacted my GP around October 2020. I have had depression off and on for 20 years but usually self manage really well.

My GP seemed to have lost the referral, and so said they would send another. By Feb/March 2022, I was suicidal and was told an urgent referral was sent.

I had problems getting my prescription. I asked the pharmacy to ensure they only accept it if they can fulfil the full prescription. I go to collect and they'd only given 2 weeks of a 3 month supply. The reason I asked them to ensure was due to knowing I'm very low and wouldn't go back for them. It was difficult enough just to go in the first place  Then my GP missed my mental health check up.

I sent a complaint to the practice manager and received no response. I chased it up, resent the original and the receptionist ensured it was passed to the manager, who arranged an immediate appointment with the GP. The GP referred me for assessment with woodlands.

I found the session with them very patronising and draining. They made me to bring a friend into the session and said if I didn't, they couldn't allow me to go home. I felt they were condescending and spoke to and about me as if I'm a 5 year old. They also said they were going to make sure my prescriptions were put on a weekly basis only, which just shows they didn't listen as to the problems I've had getting my prescription being the cause of my recent slump. I also feel it was pure idiocy as I had just been given a 3 month supply mere days before and have 2 carrier bags full of meds (one prescription, the other not) if I was thinking of suicide. So, for them to restrict the one thing that's going to help, especially when my GP has an inane policy that you need to submit prescription requests in writing at least 7 days in advance (when I am only to be given 7 days).

I came out of the session feeling even more suicidal and that it was a huge mistake asking for help.

They advised 2 weeks ago I'd be assigned a Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) and that there was no waiting list so it should be within days, but I have not had any contact. Called yesterday to chase it and was told they would call me back later that day but no call came.

Despite them feeling I needed to be admitted, they've left me entirely alone for 2 weeks.

This is what you get when health services are decided by some checkbox policy/procedure. I no longer refer to it as healthcare, as they haven't shown any care for 5+ years.
