Over the past few months, myself and my children have had to access GP services at the Medical Centre. And I mean a lot of times due to various long term ailments - they must be scunnered with us!
For me, the process via ask my GP is fantastically efficient with a clear management plan within a couple of hours. They must have hundreds of requests to deal with yet there is no delay and great communication.
The GP (please forgive me as I've forgot his name) on the several times he has seen my son and has been nothing but outstanding. Very compassionate and thorough and a gentleman. His communication skills are excellent. I walk away clear with next steps in the management plan. He treated us so well. Nothing was a problem and I never felt rushed until I was comfortable with diagnosis and next stage.
I also want to mention Cheryl who similarly over numerous times contacted us and swiftly answered via ask my GP, asked questions and was compassionate to our plight. I got appointments that same day and felt very reassured by the medical care and advice we were receiving.
Another recent example, I called the surgery explaining my symptoms as I thought I had tonsillitis. This was toward the end of the day. After a telephone consultation, support, call backs I'm now in possession of antibiotics. That is incredible given the time of day and just before a weekend.
Our GP services do not get the recognition of the fabulous work they do and the volume, complexity and spread of their work. If there was one small thing I would change it would be some reception staff attitudes at times but this is a small factor in a wider positive system.
Thank you for all you have done and will continue to do for us as a family as I know I will be back with the kids again at some point! I cannot imagine the workload you guys have but in my experience keep doing what you are doing.
Thanks for everything
