I was assessed at RAH paisley and told I needed cataract surgery, firstly to my right eye and then my left eye ( still to be done ) .
I felt it took a long time getting to the day of surgery, but with that said the day of surgery arrived .
I was sent an appointment for the Vale of Leven day surgery unit . Not ideal but a small price to pay to get the surgery needed .
On arrival quite early in the morning we found the arrivals desk was not yet open, the cleaning lady that was on duty kindly showed us to where we needed to be, thank you kindly .
Straight off the minute we walked into the dept we were treated very kindly with the staff member on the entrance to the day unit . Felt at ease 100%, no awareness whatsoever, was then introduced to Tracy who dealt with me from start to finish, Tracy was a very kind person , nothing was a problem to her, felt at ease with her, my wife was not able to come into the unit, so a friendly face was well needed, Was at ease and she took me through the steps to having my surgery done. She took me to the place I was to be operated on and was at the ward when I arrived back at the day surgery unit, she then finished off by getting me ready to go home when my wife arrived to take me home.
If anyone is reading this with any worries about this surgery, please do not worry about this procedure at all, it’s totally painless and the result is fantastic even 30 minutes after getting it done, I’m now 5 days after the operation I’m well on the mend, thanks to every single one of the NHS staff right down to the lovely cleaning lady, but mostly Tracy. Many Thanks .
"I’m well on the mend"
