"Wonderful treatment given to mum"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / General Medicine (2 south) Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response

(as a relative),

My mum has recently had a stroke and was brought into Craigavon area hospital via ambulance. The ambulance staff were amazing they were quick at coming and handle mum amazingly couldn’t have asked for anything more of them.

The staff have been so good towards mum, they are honestly just such down to earth staff members on this ward, not only have they been supportive towards mum but also me. The doctor explained to my mum what tests etc she would have, and all about here care treatment even though she can't talk. We both really appreciated his tact and treating her like a person. It really makes her feel involved in her care which is lovely to see a doctor with such professionalism and being empathic.

Just brilliant treatment and care provided by the hospital staff on 2 North. There was a situation where my mum doesn't like to have male carers and I did tell the nurses this and they were understanding of this situation and it was adhered to and all done discreetly which I am thankful for. Thanks so much for everything and the wonderful treatment given to mum.

Good afternoon phoenixrs79

I would like to initially thank you for your thoughtful and very sympathetic words towards the NIAS clinicians who came to handle your callout administering aid to your mother. Your kind words give significant encouragement to the NIAS workforce in times where it is very much needed and where the natural pressures of the job can quickly take its toll both physically and mentally. Highlighting of the quick response time as you have made evident, gives light to the standard of professionalism trying to be met accordingly and in alignment with the current internal and external pressures of the working landscape. In addition to this, the best possible first aid administered in such emergency situations as you have also made evident, will strengthen the motivation and moral of the NIAS workforce; making relevant the impact first-hand of how their work is significant to all service users.

I again extend my great appreciation and wish your mother a quick and healthy recovery
