"Amazing treatment and care"

About: Golden Jubilee National Hospital / Cardiac Surgery

(as a service user),

My adult son recently had a heart procedure carried out at the Golden Jubilee Hospital in Glasgow.  He suffered a complication in the evening following his surgery but thankfully has now recovered and is home

I felt compelled to write about the amazing treatment and care he received from the medical team and nursing staff.   The Golden Jubilee has always excelled at excellent patient care, right down to small details like how my son was welcomed and introduced to his nurse on the day surgery unit.   Everyone is so patient and caring which is so important to us because my son is quite  anxious about his condition and the necessary procedures he has undergone over the years.

I want to particularly mention Dr Walker who went above and beyond the call of duty in our opinion.  She stayed late and kept us fully informed throughout the evening when my son suffered a complication.  We were encouraged to stay with him and never made to feel we were getting in the way.   Every nurse and doctor who dealt with my son were so professional , reassuring and kind.

Amazing people , every one of you

We are so grateful , especially with all the pressures and bad press our NHS is facing right now.

Dear Sachsmum90,

Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge the care provided by our hard working and committed staff.

It is a pleasure to pass your comments onto the team and I am sure they will be delighted to hear that they were able to make you and your son feel reassured during an anxious time.

I would be grateful if you could kindly email feedback@gjnh.scot.nhs.uk with your sons name, date of birth and address please to allow me to ensure this is shared with all the staff involved.

I would like to thank you again for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback. I hope your son is recovering well and I wish you both all the very best for the future.

Kind regards
