She has now passed away. I was then told to ring the bereavement line this morning, nothing more than a voice mail asking me to leave a name and number. However during the final visit last night my father who is confused managed to get himself locked in the secure X-Ray area of the hospital for over an hour. How a 60+ year old man who walks with a walking stick and is confused manages to break into what should be one of the most secure areas of a hospital was beyond me; the staff and the security there. They did not realise he was there despite the alarms sounding for an hour! How this happened is a mystery, pursuant to the lackadaisical attitude of this hospital.
