"Outpatient appointment Hysteroscopy"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I was warmly welcomed and led though to an appointment room - where I was asked to nip into the loo and provide a pee sample and then had a blood pressure check.

Once I had changed into appropriate gowns for the examination I was introduced to the Consultant Kristin who talked me through the steps of the examination.  Being further introduced to the other care assistants present - it made 5 of us in total in the room, and given the nature of this examination/procedure you might imagine feeling feeling vulnerable and rather exposed - this team of ladies - who exuded calm experience and caring natures with  100% professionalism and excellence in their manner throughout.  Given the position - I could not have been made to feel more relaxed or comfortable.  Indeed My blood pressure had dropped immediately following this examination.

I chose not have the coil fitted on this occasion - but if the waiting times were shorter - I would certainly chose if possible to have this department fit it.

Following up - after being forewarned  I had anticipated a degree of discomfort and only needed to take one more dose of pain relief just once again in the afternoon - and also very little blood/discharge on the day.  None at all the next day.

I truly felt informed - respected and cared for, my questions were heard and responded to.

Thank you - for the provision of this excellent quality of care and service.

Ever grateful and much appreciated.

Dear Sazz23

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such positive feedback about our staff and your experience. I am very glad to hear that the team ensured that you were fully informed and that you were able to feel respected and cared for and as relaxed and comfortable as possible for such an invasive procedure. Our teams work hard to try and minimise any worry or anxiety for their patients, and to make them feel as comfortable and informed as possible during a procedure, and they very much appreciate all feedback. I will ensure that your kind words are shared with the team, along with your feedback regarding the waiting time. Thank you again, and I hope that you remain free of discomfort following this procedure.
