My husband was moved to ward 8B he has been so unsettled and upset. Some of the staff there are going into his room with the wrong attitude and he’s not cooperating because of this.
There have been things put on the board that he likes and dislikes but no attention is being paid to it. He can’t eat butter or margarine but at lunchtime he always gets a sandwich with butter.
If the staff had the attitude they have in ARU4 things would progress much easier and quicker and I would be able to get him home.
I feel some of the Healthcare Support Worker’s (HCSW's) don’t have a compassionate or caring bone in their body, disgusting. Also when I went into the room my husband was asking to go to the toilet, he is a very proud man and he was told to do it in the pad on the bed. I think this will cause him to become less mobile and possibly incontinent which I’m not accepting.
I work in care and I’ve seen the way people sometimes deteriorate after coming out of hospital and I’m sorry that isn’t happening to my husband.
