(as a service user),

I called to make an appointment, to find out that I wasn’t registered with this practice anymore. Apparently, NHS had sent a letter to me which had been rejected, meaning I was automatically removed.

I have been and still are living at the same address for the last three years, with no issue with my post. No idea why they got the letter returned, as that’s never happened before. But why didn’t they call or email me to check before removing me from the system? Now I had to share proof of address and fill out a form with 61 questions to be able to arrange an appointment. Completely ridiculous system.

The person who answered the phone at the practice did what they could to help, so this feedback is directed to the system which could have just added one simple step to sense check their info.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention and for your understanding on the matter. If you are able to contact my practice manager Mrs Khan, she will be able to check if we did try to contact you about being removed due to the NHS receiving returned mail, as is their policy.

This is our normal process and if it did not happen in your case, then I apologise.

I hope you have been able to re register so that we can help you with your medical needs.

We will discuss this at our next pactice meeting to identify any learning and improvements in our systems.
