"All the staff I dealt with were fabulous and friendly"

About: New Victoria Hospital / Out-of-hours GP service NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Initial Assessment Unit

(as a service user),

I recently was concerned that I was developing a Deep Vein thrombosis. I have chronic health problems so this was a possibility and I had worrying symptoms.

Despite the immense pressure the NHS is currently under, I was still so impressed by the efficiency, quality and professionalism of the service I received via NHS24, the GP out of hours service at the Victoria Royal infirmary in Glasgow and then at the Immediate Assessment Unit at QEUH the next day. Yes, I had to wait for quite long periods of time at each stage of the process, but all the staff I dealt with were fabulous and friendly. Within 24 hours I had appropriate blood tests, an ultrasound scan and given the all clear. We are so lucky to have this NHS- don’t let it fail. Thank you NHS GGC XXX
