"Lincoln nhs trust poor experience"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency Lincoln County Hospital / X-ray and Scans

(as a service user),

Went to a+e after severe headaches on and off for a month then sickness for 24 hours . Called doctors surgery given voice consultation told to go to a+e did so 6pm. After bloods and a ct scan was told by doctor I needed a mri scan as my first scan showed a gland missing. After 30 hours and not wanting another night in a+e the medical consultant saw me and asked me to stay as the original mri was declined by radiology consultant, he had applied again and a different consultant agreed with him .

I was disappointed with Radiology consultant and by this part of the care. This was really difficult.

Went onto a ward eventually and was led to believe a mri next morning. This never came I was given a lumbar puncture on Thursday and Friday at 4.30 after threatening to leave I was given a mri the results came too late for me to go home Christmas Eve. Then doctor came said I needed blood work but had to be done 9 am then I could go.

In the meantime the staff on ward were great but we had a gentleman who had a stroke 5 months before and whom was re admitted. He was constantly on buzzer and very loudly shouting for help even when staff had asked him what was wrong .

Every time we tried to cool the room which was boiling he made them shut the windows, another patient was complaining of the heat to and caught a cough which he gave to me. Unfortunately I coughed so badly I’ve sprained muscles between ribs and can feel one is broken .it moves wand ticks when I breath but not normal. I believe the gentleman should have been in a room with others who needed constant help allowing us to sleep and get well. The staff tried and found me fan which did cool my section of room eventually but by then was in more pain from ribs than the headaches themselves which I still have.
