I had a heart attack, and again on the next day. At first I thought it was bad heartburn, but it got really bad so we went to A&E. It was so busy and the staff were fantastic, treating me with dignity and care throughout. I was assessed and monitored for 20 hrs while we waited on a bed in the cardiac ward. Prior to the transfer into the ward, I had another episode and this time it was excruciating, but at the time I was being looked at by the cardiac Dr, so instant care was on hand. I was later transferred to Ward 103.
In 103 I was very well looked after by ALL the staff who attended to me. Very good information and I always knew what was going on. I was taken to theatre and I had my procedure, which included a balloon blown up in my small artery opening my blood flow. During this I was constantly spoken to and was told how it was going (pain was excruciating) and given meds to relax me. The aftercare in the ward once again was great.
I just want to say thank you to all the doctors, nurses and everyone else who looked after me at this very scary time.
"The staff were fantastic"
