Despite the nurse who did the assessment informing me that my wife could be cared for at home, my opinion was that she should be in hospital.
Nurses came in for five days, plus one consultant who set up oxygen and informed me to keep giving my wife two types of antibiotics tablets. The consultant then returned to give me instructions on how to switch off the oxygen machine
A physio assessed my wife's mobility and informed me that my wife may have had a stroke, then the physio arranged for her to be admitted to Monklands Hospital, where my wife died.
I feel this may have been prevented if my wife had received a visit from our GP, who do not make home visits.
